Graduated Neutral Density (GND) filters are essential tools for photographers aiming to capture scenes with a wide dynamic range, such as sunsets. These filters are designed with a dark, neutral density portion that gradually transitions to a clear portion, allowing the photographer to darken bright areas of the scene, typically the sky, while leaving the darker areas, such as the foreground, unaffected. For example, a sunset scene might have a very bright sky and a relatively dark foreground.
